History of the day

Marci Segal, a creativity expert, saw a headline in the newspaper “Canada in Creativity Crisis.” After reading that she decided to do something about it and she came up with the idea of creating this day. With her colleagues in April 2002, she organized the 1st Creativity and Innovation Day to encourage and cheer people to use their creativity and new ideas. After its success, many other countries joined from all over the world. Then in the year 2006, the day became a World Creativity and Innovation Week starting from April 15 to 21. Leonardo da Vinci’s birth anniversary on 15th April marks the beginning of the Creativity and Innovation week every year. He is a universal genius who is exceptionally good in both arts and sciences.
