National Boss’s Day is celebrated every year on or around 16th October in the United States and in other parts of the world. If this day falls on a weekend, then it is observed on the working day nearest to it. This day is dedicated to all the bosses and usually, on this day the employees thank their bosses for being kind and fair throughout the year. This day is celebrated with the motive of strengthening the relationship between bosses and employees. Many employees dedicate this day to their supervisors for many reasons, as the supervisors are the ones who support staff with their jobs and careers. This day became very popular in recent years and countries outside the United States like Australia, India, and South Africa are also celebrating this day. Hence it is a perfect day to improve or strengthen the relationship between employers and their staff. Some employees give their bosses gifts, cards or flowers on this day.

History of National Boss’s Day
The concept of National Boss’s Day was created by Patricia Bays Haroski in the year 1958. She registered the day with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce when she was working as a secretary at State Farm Insurance in Deerfield, Illinois. She selected October 16 for National Boss’s Day as the day that honors her’s father’s birthday. She selected her’s birthday because she was working for her father at the time and she also felt that the work of her father was not recognized and appreciated by the employees. Four years later in the year 1962, Otto Kerner Governor of Illinois backed Haroski’s registration and he officially declared the day as National Boss’s Day. In the year 1979, Boss’s Day grown popular and Hallmark Cards issued a National Boss’s Day card in order to honor this day. Boss’s Day is dedicated to all those wonderful bosses and provides a possibility of improving the connection between the bosses and their staff. This day also gives the employees a chance to remember those amazing bosses as sometimes we don’t think much about our Boss’s and how hard they are working and also how much they help us to make sure our salaries get paid correctly. This day Day is celebrated on October 16, or the closest working day every year in many workplaces in the United States to improve the bond between the bosses and employees and it is not a nationwide official holiday. Boss’s Day has undergone both praise and controversy.
