World Monitoring Day comes on September 18 of every year. Water is absolutely essential for human life, and every form of life that we know of needs it to exist. But water is also a universal solvent, getting all the elements of its environment and, from there, moving it directly into our homes and bodies. Water Monitoring Day was founded to encourage and educate people on how to monitor the elements of the water in their local area. Water pollution is a severe problem, and learning how to recognize, take care of, and prevent it is more famous with every passing year.

Surveillance technologies now available – including the monitoring of virtually all digital information – have advanced to the point where much of the essential apparatus of a police state is already in place – Al Gore

History of Water Monitoring Day

The History of Water Monitoring Day was designed by America’s Clean Water Foundation in 2003 with the intent of being a program that transferred out to people all over the globe to raise knowledge of water pollution issues and get somebody to test their local bodies of water.

Take a look at the water getting out of your tap. For most of us, this means we see the water from a municipal water source that is monitored and treated against pollution and disease by government authorities. But how clean and safe is it? While most of us think our tap water is safe, there are circumstances like those in Flint, Michigan, that reveal that we can’t always trust even our city water to be completely safe for us to drink.

Monitoring Day

If you have a hole, then you’re in a position that’s both better and worse. Wells are primarily subject to the changes in the environment and the things that get into our soil and groundwater. While they often draw from a much shorter reservoir and thus aren’t as easily affected by issues that may have an impact on an entire community, they should be observed more often just to be sure your water is clear and secure.

How to Celebrate Water Monitoring Day

The Day Water Monitoring Day is a suggestion that it’s time to check your water. Testing kits are prepared from a lot of resources, covering local hardware stores. If you survive in the city, you can usually get your water checked free of charge by requesting your water company. Be confident to ask them for the results so you can report them to the many water reporting sites that exist. This way, your full community can get involved in making sure everyone has access to clean, fresh water. You can use the hashtag #WaterMonitoringDay to spread awareness on social media.
