History of International Day for Biological Diversity

International Day for Biological Diversity

The General Assembly of the United Nations Organization (UNO) created the International Day for Biological Diversity in 1993. Biodiversity Day was originally proposed on December 29, 1993. Because of the Christmas and New Year holidays, the day has lost its focus and remains unknown to the world. So realizing its importance in the modern world, the UN has revised its date to the year 2000 and announced its new date as May 22.
