Spinach is believed to be originated in Persia; later Arab traders took the leafy vegetable to India and China where it was known as Persian vegetable. However, people of China claim that the vegetable reached them through Nepal. Spinach was a favourite ingredient to the queen of France, Catherine de Medici, because of which the vegetable was used in every meal. Spinach has much more credits to be celebrated.
