Sharing flats is common and widespread in America, the United Kingdom, parts of Europe, and India. This concept is adopted mainly to reduce the cost of housing. This day is celebrated to thank your excellent flatmates who have been with you through your ups and downs and from helping you in all petty things to being a family.

There is no particular reason for the creation of Flatmates Day. Although, the creator is believed to be a person who would have loved his or her roommate and wanted to thank them. It is essential to have a good flatmate with you as they will be the one you spend more time with. It is necessary for flatmates to be responsible, adaptable, non-judgmental, have excellent communication, and importantly be clean.
