History of Electronic Greeting Card Day
The origin and history of Electronic Greeting Card Day are not known. But we guess that this day was created by those websites which sell e-cards probably between the late 1990s and mid-2000s. Soon after the origin of electronic mail in 1993, the e-cards and e-greetings came along. The 1st electronic greeting card site was created by Judith Donath at the MIT Media Lab in the year 1994, and the name of the site is The Electric Postcard. We still remember those electronic cards with a low-resolution graphics back in the late 1990s, and during that time it was an exciting thing to get an electronic greeting card in your email. Nowadays stuffs like Facebook stickers and stickers that you can send in other instant messenger services like Telegram, hike, etc. dominate the field, but the concept is more or less the same.
