National Kouign Amann Day
National Kouign Amann Day has recognized annually on June 20th of every year. Kouign Amann is the round crusty cake, which is made with the yeast-raised dough containing layers of the butter and sugar folded. The resulting cake is gently cooked until the butter puffs up the dough creating the layered aspect of it. The name of this cake came from the Breton words for butter “Amann” and cake “Kouign”, and This is combined into a single form and called as Kouign Amann.

Kouign Amann Day became the official day in 2015, which was submitted by the San Francisco bakery b.patisserie in April 2015. The Registrar of the National Day Calendar declared that June 20 as the National Kouign Amann Day.
