History of International Earth Day
In 1940, Senator Gaylord Nelson organized this day on April 22 to promote ecology and increase awareness about the increasing water, air, and soil pollution problems. In some parts of the world, International Mother Earth Day is observed around the March equinox. The symbol used to describe the day contains an image of planet earth; a flower or leaves depicting the growth, and the colors like green, blue and brown will be used. Let’s celebrate the Day by spreading awareness among the people about the protection of our natural environment.
