National Bike To Work Day is an event that is held on several days in Spring in the United States and Canada. It promotes the bicycle which is an option for commuting to work. May is Bike month each year and to workweek is the Bike week to Work Day, which changes from city to city. Beginning up to National Bike To Work Day, national, regional, and local bicycle advocacy groups appreciate people to try bicycle commuting as a healthy alternative to driving by issuing the route information and tips for new bicycle commuters. Moreover, the American Medical Association has authorized that day as a part of its push to encourage active transportation.

History of National Bike To Work Day

It was initially originated by the League of American Bicyclists in 1956. It is a part of Bike-to-Work Week, which turn the part of National Bike Month. In 2015, more than 30,000 people took part in special day events and spread awareness for a healthy and safe drive. Year by Year the National Bike To Work Day will be held, and the date will be published earlier before it starts. There is no cost to participate.
