History of National Area Code Day
The creator and the origin of the National Area Code Day are still unknown. The Area codes first came into existence in the year 1940 on the laboratory of AT&T and Bell. The idea of Area Codes expanded in the later years and came to effect from the year 1947. It is referred to as the North American Numbering Plan, and it would solve the issue of not enough phone numbers for both countries like USA and Canada. It was started with numbering states and provinces with a single area code were assigned codes that had a 0 in the middle. There are some interesting ideas implemented to make dialling very easier. The area codes with the lower number at the beginning and end will be assigned to the peoples who live in the area which has a lot of people in it. In olden days, phone calls were made easier with the help of rotary dialers.
