The founder of National Nutty Fudge Day is still unknown. Nowadays there are so many stories floating around about the creation of fudge. On that, we get a referral letter from Emelyn Betters by Hartridge those letters were written in 1886 at Vassar College in Poughkeepsie, New York. She says that her cousin has made this fudge and sold it for 40 cents per pound in Baltimore, Maryland. Then Hartridge gets that receipt and made the same fudge and sold it for 30 pounds and it is for the treat of Vassar College Senior Auction in 1888.
