Fancy Rat and Mouse Day is celebrated on November 12 of every year. The Fancy Rats belongs to the family called “Mus Musculus.” They look different from the laboratory and pet rats. They are larger than the other mice, with long tails and long ears. They also look very prettier than the other rats.

History of Fancy Rat and Mouse Day
The American Fancy Rat and Mouse Association (AFRMA) created this day, and November 12 was chosen since the foundation was started on the same day in 1983. American Fancy Rat and Mouse Association is a California-based non-profit club of rodent enthusiasts that sets breed standards organizes shows, and promotes both the rat and the mouse as appealing pets. The primary objective of the AFRMA organization is to promote and support the breeding and presentation of fancy rats and mice for the show and pets. Hence, it is a perfect day to popularise fancy rats as pets and companions.
