National Men Make Dinner Day is celebrated every year on first Thursday in the month of November. Men Make Dinner Day is a special day for the beautiful men in the world who don’t cook on a regular basis. The day gives them an opportunity to step up to the plate and try their hand in the kitchen. Hence, National Men Make Dinner Day is a perfect day for the men to take charge in the kitchen and cook for their loved ones.
“Cooking is like painting or writing a song. Just as there are only so many notes or colors, there are only so many flavors – it’s how you combine them that sets you apart.” – Wolfgang Puck
History of National Men Make Dinner Day
In 2001, Sandy Sharkey created this day to help those men who have perhaps never cooked outside of a broiler, and are a little intimidated by the kitchen. The Kitchen was supposed to be the domain of the woman’s and was off limits to men. There is a demand for equality in society, the workplace and at home, as more women’s went out into the workforce. Nowadays, Men and Women become equal partners in the family, and they are sharing the moire house-related tasks like cleaning, parenting, and cooking. Hence National Men Make Dinner Day is an effort or attempt to spread the message that men can cook and can tackle responsibilities that were previously thought to be women’s tasks.
National Men Make Dinner Day is just one small effort on equally sharing the responsibilities of making a home and life together. Behind that, some of the world’s greatest chefs are men, so there is no solid evidence to prove that men are just worse cooks. Men Make Dinner Day is your chance to try out your culinary skills. Some of the men may like to cook and do so on a regular basis. Those men’s can submit their favorite recipe on the National Men Make Dinner website.
