Superhuman Day is celebrated on 7th September. This day is celebrated to honor those amazing people around the world who faced the challenges of disability and all the disgrace and dishonor that was forced on them. Superhuman Day also celebrates and brings recognition to the hundreds of athletes, artists, musicians, and normal people who have overcome what was once recognized as a disabled limitation and gone on to prove that they can do it.

“When your desires are strong enough you will appear to possess superhuman powers to achieve” – Napoleon Hill.

History of Superhuman Day

Superhuman Day was the idea of the beautiful people at Channel 4 to spotlight the extraordinary athletes at the Summer Paralympic Games. In the year 2016, Channel 4 was the official broadcaster for the Paralympics for the 2nd time, and they decided to bring these unacknowledged heroes and winners of amazing human achievements into the limelight. All these began with the advertising campaign of Channel 4, ‘We are The Superhumans,’ presenting 140 disabled people who are trying to change the attitudes of society towards them. The Paralympics was started in 1948, but people did not recognize it in those days. To honor the soldiers who were injured in World War II, an athletic event was organized to give a chance to those wounded soldiers to compete in an athletic event called “1948 International Wheelchair games.” In the year 1988, one of the wonderful events in the Paralympics occurred in Seoul, South Korea.
