National Relaxation Day comes on August 15 of every year. It is a perfect day to forget all your daily routines, put your feet up and relax. Today is the day that reminds you that sometimes it is not wrong to take a deep breath, slow down and calm down. Relaxation not only makes you feel better about yourself, but it can also have long-term health benefits. So, on this day just relax and de-stress yourself.

You have to rely on your preparation. You got to really be passionate and try to prepare more than anyone else, and put yourself in a position to succeed, and when the moment comes you got to enjoy, relax, breathe and rely on your preparation so that you can perform and not be anxious or filled with doubt.” – Steve Nash

History of National Relaxation Day

In 1985, Sean Moeller created National Relaxation Day. Sean Moeller suggested that too much work will make us sick, run-down, tired and that’s just wrong. Relaxation Day is an important day for everyone as we all need a break from the fast-paced and hectic lifestyle that we live. Taking time to recover and restore our tired bodies and minds will prevent many health risks. Too much work will be harmful to us both physically and mentally. Most doctors will agree that finding ways to relax and reduce stress will improve overall health. Hence on National Relaxation Day, do things that help you relax and de-stress. Kick back and enjoy a cold beverage in your garden, read a book while rolled up with a hot cup of coffee, sleep the entire day long, or take a warm bath and celebrate the day in your pajamas by watching TV.
