National Drive-Thru Day is annually observed on July 24. Drive through, or drive-thru is a service given to the customers to buy products without leaving their car. People place their orders using microphone and orders are picked at a window where cars move in line to purchase their products one by one. During busy hours, people will make their orders and will park their cars in designated space where the food will be delivered to them once it is ready. These services are popular in restaurants, banks, coffee shops, liquor stores, pharmacies, etc., There are around 211,000 fast food restaurants in the United States. It is considered as one of the most convenient services made for customers. The laziness of people has been used apparently to make it at their convenience. Celebrate National Drive-Thru Day for the discovery that has made our work comfortable and easy.

There are no drive-thru breakthroughs. Breakthroughs take time.” – Joyce Meyer

History of National Drive-Thru Day

National Drive-Thru Day was created by America’s first drive-thru burger chain, Jack in the Box. They created the day to celebrate the most loved convenience by vehicle. Drive-thru itself was created by Jordan Martin of the United States, in the 1930s. Later the idea was soon spread to the other countries. It is believed to be first used in the Grand National bank with the help of a drive-up window teller at St. Louis, Missouri in 1930. In 1947, the first drive-thru restaurant was recorded, which was called Red’s Giant Hamburger at Missouri. This service has made shopping easy and quick.

Enjoy the day by going to one of the drive-thrus you often visit. Many fast-food chains commemorate this day with discounts and freebies, so why leave them unnoticed. Head to your favorite drive-thru and buy those foods for your family and kids. Drive-thru helps us get our things done without any parking problems which is one of the most irksome issues that we face every day, so be grateful for its invention.
