Commitment Day has been an annual commemoration celebrated on January 1st of each year. It’s time to start keeping up the promises made. Commitment is the most difficult thing to keep up. When it comes to the person whom we love the most, keeping up the words is no more a difficult task. Show how much that person or thing is important to you on a special celebration day. Commitment towards a person or activity can be started on this day as it is the right time to say that you will and you can do it.

“When you encourage others, you in the process are encouraged because you’re making a commitment and difference in that person’s life. Encouragement really does make a difference.” – Zig Ziglar

History of Commitment Day

Commitment Day has been celebrated since 1960. However, keeping up the words or the promises made existed even before centuries. The Day was initially established as an extension of the tradition of the resolutions made on New Year’s Day. As resolutions are different from that commitments, the Day is made official for those who make commitments to other people. This is the perfect day to put an end to the excuses you have made both towards the people and activity. Make yourself dedicated to the work you do or the words you have given. Everything needs to be done by today and never postpone things. The Day also encourages each of us to get committed to another person in one way or the other.

Commitment Day

It is the state or quality of being dedicated to an activity, cause, etc. It includes keeping up the promises made and the activity that you wanted to start or stop doing. With the new year, and new day, one can try to be committed to a thing. It is an act of dedication a person does with faithfulness. Making a promise is easy and being committed to the same is quite a tougher thing. But keeping up the commitment is really a simpler one when a person does things out of love. It shows how much the person or the state of activity means to you in your life. If you are not been committed or made any promises so far, then Commitment Day is the best time to start over it.

How to Celebrate Commitment Day

The best way to celebrate Commitment Day is to have a commitment toward the person you love the most. It is important for you to satisfy the things your dear ones deserve from you. For instance, if your partner or children ask you to spend some more time, make a commitment to them as you will do it. Or otherwise, if you are about to reduce your weight, then put a commitment to work out daily as per your trainer’s instruction. Dedicate yourself to anything that needs your commitment. Participate in the events and activities by joining thousands of others like walking and running. You may also share your pictures along with the views for which you have made the commitments on social media using the hashtag #CommitmentDay.
